Strategic Plan
The Strategic
Plan sets out our current ambitions for 2004-2007.
It forms the basis of the strategic decisions we need
to make about our priorities. Our ambitions are set out
around six central themes that cut across public services.
These lead to the main priorities we propose for our work
in local government; health; housing; communities and
the environment; criminal justice and fire and rescue.
We have set out priorities across the period 2004-2007
even though we expect by April 2005 to form part of the
wider Wales Audit Office through merger with the Wales
arm of the National Audit Office. This will provide an
even greater opportunity for audit, inspection and analysis
to play a determined and decisive role in helping Welsh
public services to change and improve.
